1-Day Demonstration Workshop

Saturday, February 22nd; 9am-4pm

Amy is a Lancaster-based production potter who specializes in branding merchandise for businesses and home décor stores.  She began her ceramics endeavors at PSU and has grown into developing tools and clay for other potters to use.  Amy is influenced by functionality of everyday objects and bringing a sense of “special” to those routine rituals.

“Finding Your Form is about letting your eye see what you are gravitating to without limiting yourself to what you currently make. Keeping track of shapes that emerge as you are pulling up to make a cylinder and pushing yourself to try something new will expand your boundaries and make for more interesting work.”

During this 1-day workshop, Amy will demonstrate techniques for wheel-thrown cup forms including; surface decoration with tools Amy developed, handle making, trimming, attaching handles, and logo production.  Bring your questions and conversation!

Amy will also bring tools for purchase.

Lunch will be provided.

Off-street parking available but carpooling is encouraged. Overflow parking will be available at neighboring businesses.

Please dress comfortably for working studio space.

2-Day Demonstration Workshop

Saturday, June 7th; 9am-3pm

AND

Sunday, June 8th; 10am-4pm

Sarah is an experienced potter & owner of The Village Potter Asheville, NC. She spends much of her time teaching aspiring potters around the world and mentors many potters in skill building.

This workshop will support the hurricane relief efforts of Hurricane

Helene, during which Sarah lost her entire studio.

Well known for her teaching method, Sarah will share techniques for honing skills & transforming thrown vessels into original pieces. Sarah will share and demonstrate techniques; using all the clay, altering, darting, shaving, handles, sculpting, spouts. 

Conversation and questions are welcome and encouraged!

Lunch will be provided. Off-street parking is available but carpooling is encouraged. Overflow parking will be available at neighboring businesses.

Please dress comfortably for working studio space in warehouse setting.
