Workshop with Mark Hewitt:
"I’m looking forward to demonstrating a variety of throwing techniques, ranging from small items like mugs, plates, and bowls, to medium sized pitchers and jars (and maybe a teapot!), as well as a larger “Ten Gallon” pot made in sections.
The emphasis will be on quick and proficient throwing of thin-walled pots.
In addition, I’ll pull handles, trim feet, and decorate with slips.
See you there!"

The Character of Clay; Working with Native Materials
“In this workshop we will focus on using locally sourced native materials in our pots. We will work on the wheel to make better pitchers, boxes, oil pourers and teapots. We will expose the character of the clay by carving and combing the surface of our pots. You are encouraged to bring samples of rocks, shales and clays that are local to you. We will process these materials and make simple glaze blends that will be gas-fired later.”

This workshop is for experienced potters. Attendees should bring tools & local materials, and will leave with their un-fired pieces made during the workshop.
LCF can provide firing at a cost per piece.
